Has your child ever said, “I
don’t want to go to church-it’s boring?” One of our
goals in the First Kids Ministry at FBC Aledo is to
be just the opposite of boring. In fact we believe
church should be the most exciting place to be
because we are loving and learning about Jesus. We
use music, drama, storytelling, object lessons, etc.
to convey the truth of God’s Word.
Secondly, have you ever asked
your child what they learned in church, and they
couldn’t remember? Another one of our goals is to
focus on one virtue a month. The kids will learn one
virtue in 4 settings: Soul Street, Story Time, Small
Group, and Wrap Up. There is a different Bible Story
every week that ties right in to the Virtue for the
month. By the end of the month the kids know the
Virtue, definition, memory verse, Bible Story’s, and
the most important thing—how to apply that virtue to
every day life. We want our First Kids to be able to
give you an answer when you ask them what they learned.
