Hebrews 13:5 (ESV) Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Hebrews 13:5 (NLT) Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”

This verse teaches a valuable lesson.  Money can't be trusted but God can be trusted.  So it makes sense to love God.  It is a clear mistake to love money.

We are to avoid the love of money.  We need to continually evaluate our position with money.  How much do you think about how much money you have, don’t have or desire to have.  Do you spend needless numbers of hours thinking about what you would do if you won the lottery.  You think about all the the ways you would help people.  You would pay off all your debts.  Then you would pay off the debts of love ones.  Then you would pay any debts at the church.  Then you would spend the rest of the money living the good life.  Then...

1 Corinthians 10:11 These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age.

The them are the wanderers in he wilderness.  The Israelites that God rescued from Egypt.  We are to learn from them.  They are examples to us.  We are the ones that are living at the end of the age.  The end of the age began with the ascension of Jesus and the creation of the church.

In Exodus 16 there is a lesson for us.  We need to be really careful when God’s enough is not enough for us.  God heard their complaints.  He responded.  They were given instructions that they were to follow.  Meat in the evening by Quail that would fly in and sit before them and Bread (manna)  in the Morning.  Meat and Manna 6 days a week.  The day before the Sabbath they were given double portion to provide for them on the Sabbath.

In Numbers 11 the people grew tired of the manna.   They didn’t realize or could they seem to be able to except God was providing for them food.  He was meeting their needs.  He was waiting for them to mature to the point that they lived by faith.  That they would stop their complaining and follow the instructions of the Lord and rest in Him.  They weren’t able to do that so they were given over to wandering.

Reading through the book of Exodus is it clear that one of the lessons God is teaching us through the wanderers experience is the Sin of Complaining.

They complained about no water, no food, poor leadership, they missed Egypt and God had left them down.  Basically they complained about everything.  Even with God showing them miracles and meeting all their needs they still complained.

Are you a complainer? If your not sure think about these traits of a complainer.

1].  A complainer is never satisfied with what he has.  He never has enough money.  He never has a nice enough home or car.  He is always looking at what other people have and he believes he has been left out.  He is the king of criticism and nitpicking.  Contentment is always out of reach.

2].  Complainers alway have an excuse.  They have mastered all the reasons why changes in their lives aren’t being made.  Their complaints that do have solutions are met with excuses of why it just can’t happen.  They just can’t change. ...

In John 5:17 Jesus said in response to the harassment of the Pharisees for healing a man on the Sabbath, “My Father is always working, and so am I.”  This really infuriated the Jewish leaders and they became even more committed to killing him.

Jesus said His Father is always working and so is He.  That is really encouraging.  God is always at work.  That is a promise we can count on.

He is at work in the the spiritually dark and cold places.  He is a work in your home, in your neighborhood, in your school, even at your work.

Spend some time observing your world.  Rejoice when you see the signs of His activity.

Re: GREAT DAY TO START A BLOG
Wow, that is inspiring and so like God to do something completely unexpected and completely amazing! I love it!! I love how God used a funeral to bless that man and begin healing but also to bless you and through you to bless those reading the blog and on and on! Thanks for sharing! It was not just another ordinary day! But don't you wish all "ordinary" days were like THAT! Maybe they are and we just miss it or I'll speak for myself, I miss it! I love it when God just drops things right in front of you though so you can't miss it unless you purposely chose to walk away from it! You're blog made my day!
